When I asked for feedback for my first draft I found that the majority of the people didn't understand the storyline and the ending. They said that the continuity was bad and that there wasn't much conventions of the thriller genre included and used.
Because of this my first draft isn't very good so I've decided to change the plot, instead of Bliss walking in on James and Lily, she will over hear his phone call then confront him. They have a an argument while James packs his bags to leave, but while they are arguing at the top of the stairs Bliss will push him and he will fall backwards and tumble down the stairs to his death. Bliss will run to his aid but after finding out he has died she will come up with a cover story, explaining to the police that they were broken into and attacked. The end sequence will be in flashes of Bliss trashing the house, making it look like it has been burgled.
