Character Profile

The person I will be using to play Bliss is Becky Foster. I asked her to be in my short film because we are close and I trust her to be reliable and organised. She also enjoys acting and performing and isn't camera shy so she is perfect for the role.

Characters

Bliss Potter - The protagonist in the film, usually in thrillers the protagonist in a male but during recent years females have been stepping into the role so I thought I would use the modern stylistic and chose a female. She's ages 21 and works in a retail shop, she is happily engaged to James. 

James Flash - Is the antagonist in my film. 21 year old teaching assistant at the local college, he's having the affair with Lily, and then decides to leave Bliss for her.

Lily Blitz - The 'other woman' who James has the affair with, she is based on the first wife of Maxim de Winter in the 1940's film Rebecca. 19 year old student from local university. 

Sarah Glass - Bliss' best friend who she confides in about the affair. 

Synopsis for 'Sweet Revenge'

Sweet Revenge

Bliss had the perfect life; the perfect job and the perfect guy until she discovers his secret. One day while looking out on the marina towards the sea she reminisces on how her life changed for the worst. Shown through a series of flashbacks we see Bliss who spots her fiancé talking to an unknown woman while walking to work, she then sees him kissing the woman and then entering a taxi together. Confused Bliss confides with her friend about what to do, having no idea what she had witnessed she confronts her fiancé and explains what she saw. After having a heated argument with James, he packs his bags and leaves Bliss and while living with the reality of her fiancé leaving her for another woman this leads to her decision to have him murdered but what she doesn't know is that her fiancé has decided the same fate for her. The end scenes are shown to be the same for both characters; no one knows who will be killed, until Bliss’ best friend meets her on the sea front.

Story Type

The story type I have chosen for my sequence is 'The Quest'.

'The character is set a task to find someone or something. He accepts the challenge, searches for and find the someone or something. He is then rewarded, or not, for the success in the quest (eg Star Wars, George Lucas, US, 1977)'

 

 

My protagonist will find out that her fiance has been cheating on her, she then tries to find and figure out what she will do, she then finds that she cannot carry on her life knowing what he did so hires an assassin to kill him. She then rewarded with peace and can carry on with her life.
